Many of you know that my father had a seizure just as I was leaving town, and I am so thankful for those of you who reached out with caring words and encouragement, and to those of you who are here listening. Beyond the oddity that I was in town and so immediately available to go to the hospital, I’d just written a piece about my ongoing frustration with his Q Anonic tendencies. So, as I found myself advocating for his care at the hospital, the article was going viral. Should I take it down? I wondered, not out of regret at writing it, but because trolls can be so contemptible. I couldn’t bear the thought of opening the page to see negative commentary hurled at my father (in the echo chamber that is this type of commentary, this had happened before).
