Okay, according to folks inside Camp Swift, this is NOT a sneaky preview of a Kamala Harris endorsement, but one of her dancers exiting the stage. Uhh, I’ve never been to a show. So if one of you has, would you please confirm or deny if this garb is in any way NORMAL for her dancers????
Anyway, Harris already got the nod from Taylor back in 2020.
How could she change camp now? Especially after comments the Donald made to this poor author a couple months back.

"I think she's beautiful— very beautiful. I find her very beautiful.
I think she's liberal. She probably doesn't like Trump. But I hear she's very talented. But I think she's very, I think she's very beautiful, actually — unusually beautiful."
—Donald Trump, former reality TV star
Nothing weird at all about referring to yourself in the third person.
More insidious, however, is the reality star’s casual dismissal of the incredible empire Swift has built, a combo of her talent, extremely hard work, and her apparent decency as a human.
I’ve talked about this here before, how men like Trump and that doofus Harrison Butker just cannot acknowledge a powerful woman, but as we stare into the dawn of a new day, the please-this-time-let’s-elect-a-woman-because-how-can-you-not-like-Kamala–Harris? — (that’s a wink wink nod nod to the people who just could not like Hillary Clinton) let us not shirk from that sun.
People said Harris wasn’t electable because she’s “too California.” Code for “too liberal”?
Really?
When you look back at the actual founding principles of this country (removing sexist & racist overtones because DO NOT get me started on the pathetic DEI hire messaging the GOP has to tell its own people to walk back even though their candidate can’t help but dog whistle that message all the time):
✅ We didn’t want a king with authority ordained by “god” (whose god?) ✅
✅ We wanted separation of church and state ✅
✅ Freedom of speech ✅
✅ One person one vote (no taxation without representation) ✅
✅ And abortion was a goddamn NONISSUE because until male doctors got together in 1880 and formed the AMA, then determined that only male doctors could doctor (cha-ching) because ladies weren’t allowed at unis, well, nobody gave a rat’s ass. ✅
Besides the fact that the points above are essentially the Project 2025 talking points, Harris and Walz have pledged to fight for all those things.✅
Otherwise, both have supported Israel, but also been critical of Israeli actions that violate international law, and have broadly condemned attacks on Palestinian civilians.
IDK about you, I’m just not seeing wild radicals here.
I’M SEEING THE NEXT PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
New book, VEGAS GIRLS
Isn’t she pretty?
Thelma & Kathleen are at it AGAIN!!
If you read the first book, you’ll recall that toward the end, Thelma showed up on Kathleen Young’s doorstep in California. Now she wants her revenge!
As soon as I started to think the characters in Florida Girls had more to say, I knew their next stop would have to be Las Vegas. For one, it's where mafia activity flourished after World War II. Better still, the early days of Las Vegas are rife with interesting histories. Certainly rivals Florida for bizarre.

If you haven’t yet read my debut historic novel Florida Girls—about a troupe of swimsuit models on a war bond tour who take on the Florida mafia—what are you waiting for???
News Hooks, Olympic❤️& Upcoming Events
One of the things about Vegas Girls… Kathleen Young is pregnant. That sped up the action, but it also afforded the opportunity to talk about women being strong and capable while pregnant (even if back then they didn’t say “pregnant” in public).
And then the Olympics gifted us all with these women:
Which brings me back to, now who is it that’s fit for office?
And, ooh, are you registered to vote? If not, here’s how:
Aaannnnd, the Florida Girls book tour continues. Check out what’s coming up:
Now it’s your turn!
What are you reading right now? (I’m reading Havana Dreams, by Wendy Gimbel)
How are you sleeping lately? (As for me, much better, thanks!)
Who’s your pregnant hero? (Mine’s probably Jacinda Ardern, former PM of New Zealand! After my mom and step-daughter, that is.)
What music is lighting you up? (I need some good recos!)
How about films or TV? (I am LOVING The Serpent Queen)
I'm not an American (I'm a Brit, living in Canada), but I'm rooting so hard for Harris/Walz. The whole world should be.
I'm reading Living with a Wild God by Barbara Ehrenreich--heavy stuff-- just finished How to Be Single by Liz Tuccillo. Writing Postcards to voters in Swing States, Happy that Debby didn't bother me here, sleeping okay, revisiting some classic rock while on my elliptical...
